Patients’ personal data are held in an electronic file authorised by the Spanish Data Protection Agency at the corresponding security level. Data protection practice follows Organic Law 15/99 on the Protection of Personal Data (LOPD) and Patient Autonomy Law 41/2002.

Under no circumstances do these services include the medical prescription of products not authorised by the AEMPS (the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices). As a general rule, nor is it possible to issue medical certificates exempting a patient from the provisions of Law 4/2015 on Public Safety as regards controlled substances.
